Ode to Olaf's Idledale Rental Home
May 2016
As we pack moving boxes, we can't help but ponder our 4-year residence in Idledale.
Memories (at times, bittersweet) fill our minds on this rainy spring day. We have always cherished our warm cozy rustic rental...a safe, secluded place to come home to.
When we decided to move here from hot and humid North Carolina, we set out on a search for a rental home that would reflect the Rocky Mountain experience and Olaf's house delivers. We rented sight-unseen, but when we arrived we were stunned by the breathtaking view! The house has a great layout with a spacious kitchen, including sliding glass doors to enjoy the view while cooking or entertaining. The deck is fantastic for relaxing and cooling off - rain or shine - in summer, or watching the landscape become a winter wonderland. Chances are, you will see deer, foxes, woodland creatures and even elk in the area. One of our favorite features of the home is the see thru' fireplace, essential for cold Colorado evenings. After the snow melted, we could easily cure our cabin fever. It's not very far at all from shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, parks and Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Olaf has been an excellent landlord and we are blessed to call him our friend. He is always easy to contact when needed, and accommodating when there is an issue.
As we now move on to the next chapter in the lives of our family, we will consider our Idledale experience as the intro to our love for Colorado.
