Tom was one of the most memorable people I have ever known. He is kind and thoughtful, forgiving and generous, and always saw the best in everyone ... I knew him as a skier ... I knew him in Vail, and admired his meticulous upkeep of an ancient Toyota Land Cruiser and 10 year old mountain bike of similar colors ... It's fascinating what we remember of others ... Yet, I was always fearful of his climbing ... and falling ... Tom should have lived until he was 99, so he could have passed on stories of his adventures to anyone listening close by ... Again, thank you for posting this memorial ... I hate that death exists, I hate accidents even more ... I only hope his memory will live for a very long, if not indefinitely ...
